Google Drive makes it faster to share files with the people you talk to most
Google is making it even easier to share files with colleagues, according to a post on the company’s website blog (opens in a new tab)and new suggested contacts are available from today directly from the share sheet.
To improve productivity and collaboration, Google Workspace has added a new line of suggested contacts below the field you normally use to enter a contact’s name or email address. These fields change dynamically based on who you share with most often.

The company has already started rolling out the updates, although it may take around two weeks for some users to see the changes. And that’s if they can do it at all, because only Workspace accounts and older versions of G Suite will get the new suggestion bar. Personal accounts will remain unchanged (at least for now).
In addition to this update, Google has been busy tweaking its share sheet over the last few weeks.
Earlier this month, Google added an option to control sharing expiration when a file is shared. Previously, users had to share a file and then revisit the sharing panel to change permissions. Now, after deployment (for some business customers using Workspace), employees can more easily configure permissions.
Google isn’t the only company making changes to how users share files. Last month, TechRadar Pro announced that Microsoft may also make adjustments to its process.
